2017 RIESLING - Seneca Lake Vineyard

Dry White Table Wine
93 Cases produced
Alcohol: 11.3%
Total sulfite: 30 ppm
Soil: Deeper loam over shale and limestone
Grape: 100% Riesling
- Crushed and Destemmed
- Ambient Yeast
- Stainless Steel
- Unfined and Unfiltered

ELEVAGE: Grapes were crushed, destemmed, pressed and juice was allowed to settle and brown before being moved to stainless steel to ferment via ambiant yeast. Fermentation, including full malolactic, continued into July of 2018. In late October the wine was racked off its lees and gravity bottled by hand without fining or filtration.

TASTING NOTE: Nose of pit-fruit and shale, on the tounge it is a mid-weight wine with flavors of lime and tangerine. The finish is dry and acid driven with citrus fruit and shale.

SENECA LAKE VINEYARD: In and around Lodi, New York on the eastern shore of Seneca Lake, grower Mark Wagner maintains nearly seventy acres of vines contained in six separate plots with soils mostly composed of deeper loam over shale and limestone. Green mulching and cover crops are used to manage weeds and vines are meticulously cared for with an eye towards sustainability. These vineyards produce classic Finger Lakes wines with wonderful balance and clarity.

A bunch of grapes. Seneca Lake Vineyard, clone 4 chardonnay. It's practically obscene.
