2019 PINOT NOIR - Lamb's Quarters Vineyard

TASTING NOTE: Cherry fruit, shale, oak spice and tea leaf in the nose. Concentrated and seamless with dense dried cherry fruit, very fine grained powdery tannin and lively acid.

ELEVAGE: Hand picked grapes were foot crushed and put whole cluster into one ton bins to ferment with once daily punchdowns. After twelve days the grapes were pressed and settled juice was moved to old French oak barrels to complete fermentation. In September of 2020 the wine was racked out of barrel into tank and bottled by hand without fining or filtration.

VINEYARD: In Lodi, New York on the eastern shore of Seneca Lake grower MarkWagner maintains one hundred and twelve acres of vines over twenty unique plots with soils primarily composed of Honeoye Silt Loam and Lansing Gravely Loam over shale. These vineyards are meticulously cared for with an eye towards sustainability and produce classic Finger Lakes wines with wonderful balance and clarity.
