2018 Pinot Gris - Ten Dots - Cayuga Lake Vineyard

ELEVAGE: Grapes were crushed, destemmed and fermented on their skins for ten days. Pressed juice was moved to stainless steel where fermentation, including full malolactic, continued into June of 2019. In August of 2019 the wine was racked and gravity bottled by hand without fining or filtration.

TASTING NOTE: Aroma of ripe cantaloupe and slate. Melon and orange fruit, very structured, dry with more slate and cantaloupe on the finish.

CAYUGA LAKE VINEYARD: Located in Ovid, New York on the western shore of Cayuga Lake and is composed of gravelly loam derived from shale, limestone and slate. The vineyard's gentle, well drained slope towards the lake and east facing exposure combine to create a perfect site for cool climate viticulture. This vineyard produces wine of great finesse with bright, mineral studded acidity
