TASTING NOTE: Ripe pear, flint and beeswax nose. Medium weight wine, pear and
almond notes, dry with a chalky, lightly honied finish.
ELEVAGE:Hand picked grapes were crushed, destemmed and put into one ton bins to
macerate for two days. Pressed, browned and settled juice was moved to stainless
steel where fermentation, including full malolactic, took place over 18 months. In
August of 2021 the wine was racked and bottled by hand without fining or filtration.
VINEYARD: In Lodi, New York on the eastern shore of Seneca Lake grower Mark Wagner
maintains one hundred and twelve acres of vines over twenty unique plots with soils
primarily composed of Honeoye Silt Loam and Lansing Gravely Loam over shale.
These vineyards are meticulously cared for with an eye towards sustainability and
produce classic Finger Lakes wines with wonderful balance and clarity.
