2020 PINOT NOIR - Lamb's Quarters Vineyard

Grape: 100% Pinot Noir
Alcohol: 12.7%
Total sulfite addition: 35 ppm
- Whole cluster/foot crushed, 100% stem inclusion
- Old French oak barrels: 11 months
- Unfined and Unfiltered
TASTING NOTE: Black cherry, crushed leaves and oak spice aromas. Dense in the mouth
with sweet cherry fruit, bright acid and firm fine-grained tannin.
ELEVAGE: Grapes were foot crushed and put whole cluster into one ton bins to ferment
with once daily punchdowns. After thirteen days the grapes were pressed and settled
juice was moved to old French oak barrels to complete fermentation. In late-August
of 2021 the wine was racked out of barrel into tank and bottled by hand without fining
or filtration.
VINEYARD: In Lodi, New York on the eastern shore of Seneca Lake grower Mark Wagner
maintains one hundred and twelve acres of vines over twenty unique plots with soils
primarily composed of Honeoye Silt Loam and Lansing Gravely Loam over shale.
These vineyards are meticulously cared for with an eye towards sustainability and produce
classic Finger Lakes wines with wonderful balance and clarity.
