Lake Road Vineyard
Dry Red Table Wine
100 cases produced
Grape: 100% pinot noir
Alcohol: 10.9%
Total added sulfite: 55 ppm
Ingredients: Grapes, yeast, sulfite
Hand harvested - September 18th
Crushed with 50% stem inclusion
11 days on skins
Neutral French oak barrels (5 years) for 12 months
Unfined and unfiltered
Farming: New York State Certified Sustainable
Vineyard: Lake Road Vineyard - Cayuga Lake - King Ferry - west facing, gentle slope
Soil: Gravelly loam over shale and slate
Note: Wood spice, tart cherry, dried flowers, light body with firm tannin and a wash of shale.
Elevage: Grapes were crushed into a bin with 50% stem inclusion and left to ferment with
once daily punchdowns. After eleven days the grapes were pressed and settled juice was
moved to five-year-old French oak barrels to complete fermentation, including full malolactic,
which finished in early-summer 2025. In September the wine was racked off its lees and
bottled without fining or filtration.
Miscellaneous: From a recently planted vineyard on the east side of Cayuga Lake, a light
bodied yet totally complete pinot noir with fine, firm tannin and deep, tart cherry fruit.
