2024 CABERNET FRANC
Arlo's Block
Dry Red Table Wine
100 cases produced
Grape: 100% Cabernet Franc
Alcohol: 11.6
Total sulfite addition: 55 ppm
Ingredients: Grapes, yeast, sulfite
Hand harvested: October 1st
Crushed with 50% stem inclusion
28 days on skins
Neutral French oak barrels for 12 months
Unfined and unfiltered
Farming: Conventional/sustainable
Vineyard: Rasta Ranch Vineyard - Seneca Lake - Hector - west facing
Soil: Silt loam over shale
Note: Crushed raspberry, pollen, juicy, bright and seamless with a wash of shale and
lingering tannic grip.
Elevage: Grapes were crushed into a bin with fifty per cent stem inclusion and left to
ferment with once daily punchdowns. After twenty-eight days the grapes were pressed and
settled juice was moved to old French oak barrels to complete fermentation, including full
malolactic, which finished in early-summer 2025. In October the wine was racked off its
lees and bottled without fining or filtration.
Miscellaneous: Cabernet franc from Arlo Ringsmuth's vineyard on the east side of Seneca
Lake in Hector. This fruit is always bright and alive with a wild edge to it and is about the
closest we get to natty wine these days. Easy drinking but even better on day two.
