2023 Acidalia - Red Blend
Dry Red Table Wine

- Grape: 68% merlot, 24% cabernet franc, 8% cabernet sauvignon
- Alcohol: 11.3%
- Total added sulfite: 40 ppm
- Ingredients: Grapes, yeast, sulfite
- Crushed with 50% stem inclusion
- 13 days on skins
- French oak barrels (6-12 years old) for 11 months
- Unfined and unfiltered
- Farming: Conventional/sustainable
- Vineyard: Lamoreaux Landing - Seneca Lake - Lodi - west facing, gentle slope
- Soil: Honeoye Silt Loam and Lansing Gravelly Loam over shale
TASTING NOTE: Crushed stone, plum, cherry pit and bramble, medium body with fine grained tannin.
ELEVAGE: Grapes were crushed into a bins with fifty per cent stem inclusion and let to
ferment with once daily punchdowns. After thirteen days the grapes were pressed and
settled juice was moved to old French oak barrels to complete fermentation, including full
malolactic, which finished in July of 2024. In mid-September the wine was racked off its
lees and bottled without fining or filtration.
VINEYARD: Acidalia is the name of the area where our farm is located. The town is long
gone as is the acid factory that supported it over a century ago. This vintage of Acidalia is
dominated by merlot with cabernets franc and sauvignon adding bramble fruit flavors.
